can I make money?

I've heard of alot of folks here on Hubpages that state they are making money writing articles. I've heard it can be pretty lucrative. I'm not the greatest writer, in fact I don't think I write well at all but what do I have to lose? I figure if I can make a few extra dollars here and there it wasn't a waste of time.

I was reading a few hubs from writers like Angel of Love , that you need a website where you can write blogs or articles and insert Google Adsense ads and Affiliate Marketing links or widgets.Ok so I've created a blog to start writing and monetized it.

What is monetizing?

Monetize means to convert something to money. In Internet terms monetize refers to finding a way to generate income from items posted on the Web. Web sites are usually monetized by either selling ad space or creating a related product line, such as T-shirts with slogans. Some programs that can increase your monetization (is that a word) are Google Adsense, Kontera, Amazon and eBay.

I signed up here to write articles on Hubpages. So far I've only written one hub about making a girl happy and the second about IMS (irritable male syndrome), this will be my second. Again I don't think I'm an expert but I'm just gathering some of the info I've read and sharing it, I'm trying to determine if these strategies really work. But it's my intention to make money to pay off my student loan. I figure an extra $100 a month could help me do that.

I'm still learning about keywords, and search engine optimization. This stuff is a little confusing but with more reading and education I'll get it, eventually. Most of it really sounds like it's all about getting traffic to my site. It's all about getting people to visit your site so that they click on your ads. I love the web, it's amazing how technology has transformed our lives and if it can also help me make a little extra cash, I'll love it even more.
